A family that clays together stays together. The Jones family — Sam, Beth, Jesse and Kaia — are among the Pagosans contributing their efforts to Empty Bowls 2013. This year’s event will be held 11 a.m.-1 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 26, at Pagosa Springs Elementary School.

Pagosa Springs elementary and high school art students, community members and teachers are teaming up to host Empty Bowls 2013.

This year’s event will be held 11 a.m.-1 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 26, at Pagosa Springs Elementary School.

Empty Bowls events are held at sites around the country, raising money to combat hunger in our communities.

The students and potters participating in this year’s event have donated their bowls to be filled with soup, and everyone is invited to attend.

Your $10 donation will give you the opportunity to pick out a beautiful handmade bowl, as well as to enjoy a simple but wonderful meal of soup, bread, drink and dessert donated by area businesses and community members.

Proceeds will go to local food banks. In 2012, more than 300 people attended and help raise $4,000 for our community.

We look forward to seeing you at this year’s event.
