‘Doodling Around’ in Del Norte

Color, textures, fibers and soft sculptures, wooden miniature doll furniture and wooden boxes, photography, metal sculptures made from unusual recycled items, collages and digital art are included in the current art show at the Rio Grande County Museum and Cultural Center in Del Norte, Colo.

The theme of the show is “Doodling Around” and includes progressive drawings where each member added their ideas to the original drawing and even to an old guitar that now has a new life in the world of art.

Art Thing members showing at this exhibit are Jane Rhett, Laura Lunsford, Vincent Coca, John Patterson, Jeannie Norwood, Richard Gottlieb, Nancy Harris, Albert Kahan, John Patterson, Suz Phillips, Janine Jiron, Ryan Aragon and Marian Schlagbaum, with a special tribute to Roger Schlagbaum with a collection of his woodwork.

The show will continue through March 1 at the Rio Grande County Museum and Cultural Center.  The hours are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Friday, and 10 a.m.  to 2 p.m. on Saturday.
