DIY tea wreaths, Hot Chocolate Hullabaloo and Toys for Tots at the library

This month’s adult DIY event takes place next Wednesday, Dec. 9, at 2 p.m., when you will learn how to make a tea wreath. Instead of shoving tea bags in a drawer, make a tea wreath to display them for your family and friends. No registration is required.

Then, on Thursday, Dec. 10, we hope you will join us from 4 to 6 p.m. for the Hot Chocolate Hullabaloo, an all-age event to celebrate the holiday season. You’ll enjoy seasonal crafts and a warm cup of hot chocolate.

Saturday, Dec. 12, we’ll host Toys for Tots from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. We hope you will drop off new, unwrapped gifts for needy children in Archuleta County. We would appreciate it if teens and tweens would volunteer at the drive. Please contact the library if you are interested.

Activities calendars

To be sure you don’t miss any of the free activities available to you and your families at your library, we encourage you to pick up a copy of the events calendar each month. There are three versions — kids (includes tweens), teens and adults.

Christmas movie

Tomorrow, Friday, Dec. 4, from 2 to 3:30 p.m., we’ll show a G-rated Christmas movie, a funny variation of a classic Christmas tale.

Book club

If you’re in the fourth through eighth grades, like to read and share what you read with friends, the Bookbuster’s Dare to Read Book Club is for you. Please join us on Wednesday, Dec. 9, from 4 to 5 p.m. We’ll be discussing “The Last Apprentice: Revenge of the Witch” by Joseph Delaney.
