Farmers and ranchers may be eligible for USDA loans for production losses caused by drought and related disasters that have occurred in 2012.
Archuleta County farmers and ranchers may be eligible for low interest emergency loans, provided eligibility requirements are met, to help cover losses they sustained as a result of the effects of drought conditions, according to Rick Cervenka, senior farm loan officer, with the Farm Service Agency.
“Any farmer or rancher in that category who is interested in a loan should visit the Farm Service Agency county office as soon as possible,” Cervenka said. They must apply no later than Sept. 9, 2013. No applications may be accepted after this date.
Cervenka is located at the Farm Service Agency, 628 W. 5th St., Cortez, CO 81321; telephone (970) 565-8879, Ext. 107.
