The 18th annual Dirk and Colt Ross Memorial Basketball tournament is on the horizon, with this year’s tournament taking place April 18-20.
Proceeds from the tournament go to a scholarship fund to benefit Pagosa Springs youth.
In addition to the tournament, officiated by referees from the Four Corners area, the event will again include a special memorial presentation on April 19.
The double-elimination tournament, which is expected to feature college-level competition, is split into three divisions — open, six feet and under, and 35 and over.
Entry is $250 per team, with a 10-player maximum for each team.
Entries are taken on a first-come, first-served basis with a deposit, and up to 30 teams may enter. Entries close on April 1.
Prizes will be awarded for first through fourth place teams, tournament MVP, slam dunk contest, three-point shootout, and door prizes.
Volunteers are needed for the tournament.
Those interested in volunteering with concessions and admissions should contact Loretta Ross at 264-5266.
Competitors, as well as those interested in helping with books and score keeping, and working as referees, should contact Troy Ross at 264-5265 or 946-5265, at troy@rossbasketballtournament.com, or by fax at 264-2123.
Admission to the tournament is $3 for adults, $2 for students, and is free for those 8 and under.
