Democrats plan Fourth of July picnic

By John Porco
Special to The PREVIEW

In what has become a Fourth of July tradition, the Archuleta County Democratic Party will again sponsor a holiday picnic.

The picnic is free and open to people of all political persuasions. The menu will include pulled pork, hot dogs, baked beans, coleslaw, desserts and all the trimmings. Soft drinks and beer will be provided.

The location is the home of former county commissioner Mamie Lynch at South 2nd and Hermosa streets, one block south of the Forest Service office, from noon to 3 p.m.

For those who may want to help trim the Democrat’s parade float, a decorating party will be held on Thursday evening at the home of John Egan, 272 1st St., starting at 6 p.m. Pizza, soft drinks and beer will be provided free of charge.

Come join us for these festive events. For more information, contact Sue Yalom at 731-1091 or Becky Herman at 264-2171.
