It is one of the most eagerly-anticipated and fun events in Pagosa Country and, this year, a Little Black Dress Affair will move to a different date. The fund-raiser for Seeds of Learning will be held Saturday, Oct. 5, rather than in March.

Get that little black dress to the cleaners and dust off those glamorous heels. A Little Black Dress Affair, presented by Seeds of Learning, is back for another year — just a new time of year.

This fabulously fun, feminine evening has traditionally been held every March. Each year, we’ve heard the sad complaints from the sports moms who couldn’t attend because their kids had finals out of town. We heared the wishful sighs from the snowbirds who haven’t ventured back to Pagosa yet. We heard the frustrated whines of many supporters who wanted to attend, but couldn’t support all the local fund-raisers that were held in March.

So, we are moving.

Mark your 2013 calendar for Saturday, Oct. 5. That date will be early in the season for the sports moms, pre-departure time for the snowbirds and less competition for all our other wonderful attendees.

This year, you’ll be treated to “All That Glitters.”

We are in the early stages of planning, but already have some fun ideas to make this “LBD” the best yet. Think “jewelry,” and lots of it. If it glitters, it will probably be included.

Our planning committee is made up of creative, motivated ladies with some wonderful, unique ideas. Our goal each year is to come up with something different to entertain and awe you. If you missed the beautifully decorated room, flash dancing and laughter with friends last year, you will want to get tickets early this year.

We’ll keep you posted about the details and tickets will be available in July.

As always, all of our proceeds will be used to help Pagosa tots attend our nationally-accredited educational program.

So, start gathering your BFFs and plan to attend on Oct. 5.

After all, we girls know how to party!
