Cowboy poetry gathering

Ken and Jan Harms wish to extend their heartfelt thanks to all who made the first annual Pagosa Peak Cowboy Poetry Gathering a success.

First, to the Archuleta County Tourism Fund for awarding us a grant to create this new nonprofit event, and to Mary Jo Coulehan and the Pagosa Springs Area Chamber of Commerce for all their support.

Second, to KWUF and The Pagosa Springs SUN for outstanding promotion of this event. While the Western Music Association brought in out-of-town guests, KWUF and The SUN went beyond the call of duty to bring in locals and we couldn’t have done it without them.

Third, to the San Juan Mounted Rangers for traffic and crowd control. Fourth, to all the performers and volunteers: Forest and Jaclyn Bramwell, who put in countless hours, headliner James Michael, special guest Evelyn Roper, 9-year-old cowboy poet Julian Oliver, Sarah Murrey on photography, Jami Harms on CD sales and Shean Rainbow Star for all his support. And last, to Steve and the PLPOA for renting us a venue allowing an audience of about 200 that were supportive and receptive from the start of the show to the end. You were a great crowd. See you next year.

Ken and Jan Harms
