The Western Land Owners Alliance, along with conservation-minded landowners, gathered last week to discuss the effects, economics and issues that deal with hydraulic fracturing — also known as fracking.
The gathering gave everyone who attended an opportunity to ask about issues they were concerned with and to get answers on questions they were not sure about. To help address the questions were representatives from the Bureau of Land Management (BLM), the Oil and Gas Conservation Commission for the State of Colorado, Archuleta County Board of County Commissioners, Archuleta County Attorney Todd Starr and geologists.
