Special to The PREVIEW
The Pagosa Springs Community Choir presents their Christmas Concert “Believe” this weekend, Nov. 30, Dec. 1 and 2 in the Pagosa Springs High School auditorium. The Nov. 30 and Dec. 1 concerts are at 7 p.m., and the Dec. 4 concert is a matinee at 4 p.m.
As in previous years, the concert will be a blend of music styles, all celebrating the Christmas season. The religious numbers include “Tidings of Joy” and “Such a Small King.” Parts of the concert will focus on secular selections like “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas.”
The Jazz Ensemble will add some swing to the concert with a medley entitled “Christmas Jazz II,” which includes a special version of ”Go Tell It on the Mountain” and “Holly and Ivy.”
As is tradition, the concert will end with the “Hallelujah Chorus.”
Join us to get into the holiday mood.
In addition to the choir, several talented instrumentalists will open the concert, and several handbell players from Community United Methodist Church are adding their special touch to the festive program.
All concerts are free and open to the public. However, the choir always welcomes donations to help support the music programs in our public schools. This year our monies are helping the high school choral groups buy new apparel.
