Special to The PREVIEW
The joy, warmth and meaning of Christmas will come to life at the Pagosa Springs Community Choir’s annual Christmas Concert.
“Believe” will be presented Nov. 30, Dec. 1 and 2 in the Pagosa Springs High School auditorium. The Nov. 30 and Dec. 1 concerts are at 7 p.m. and the Dec. 2 concert is a matinee, at 4 p.m.
An instrumental ensemble will open this year’s program.
The concert will be narrated by Dale Schwicker, and Faith Richardson will provide the sign language accompaniment as the choir sings. During the concert, you will be able to view several “living” Christmas cards.
Exciting new arrangements of such old standards as “O Come, All Ye Faithful” and “Sing We Now of Christmas” are a part of the program. The choir will also be singing several upbeat selections like “A Tiny Little Baby” and “Mary, Mary.”
In addition to the choir, the Jazz Ensemble will provide a change of pace with a medley entitled “Christmas Jazz II,” which includes a special version of ”Go Tell It on the Mountain” and “Silent Night.”
As is tradition, the concert will end with the “Hallelujah Chorus.”
Join us to get your holiday season off to a joyful start.
All concerts are free and open to the public. However, the choir always welcomes donations to help support the music programs in our public schools.
