The Pagosa Springs Community Choir joined the high school music department to kick off a fund drive for purchasing new uniforms.

The Community Choir presented Dan Burch, high school music director, with a check for $1,500 to get the drive started.

Community Choir president Betty Schwicker explained that one mission of the choir has always been to support music programs in the Pagosa Springs Schools. She said, “The generosity of people in this community who support us, helps us give back by supporting our school music programs.”

Several of the musical groups at the high school need new performance wear and are kicking off a fund drive to purchase new uniforms. The drive will provide opportunities for other organizations, clubs or individuals to join in the effort.

Individuals may help by “adopting” a musician with a single donation of $100. These funds will be held in a special account for purchasing uniforms.

If you are interested in helping with the fund-raising drive, either as an individual or an organization, contact Dan Burch through the high school at 264-2231, or e-mail him at
