Special to The PREVIEW
Women who were members of a Panhellenic sorority during their college days are invited to the eighth annual luncheon of sorority alumnae to take place on Saturday, Sept. 14, in the private dining room at Boss Hogg’s restaurant starting at 11 a.m.
Cost is $18, which includes your choice from four entrees, wheat bread, a non-alcoholic drink (coffee, soda or iced tea), dessert, tax and tip. Entree choices are catfish (gluten free), five-cheese lasagna (vegetarian), Reuben sandwich or Mesa Verde chicken sandwich. Dessert is bread pudding.
Prepaid reservations are required by Friday, Sept. 6. To confirm your participation, send a check for $18 per person made out to San Juan Pi Beta Phi to Marilyn Chipps, PO Box 3591, Pagosa Springs, CO 81147 and specify your entree choice. Also, please confirm your name, phone, e-mail, sorority and college where you pledged to ensure our list remains accurate and current. Marilyn’s telephone is 731-3176 if you have questions regarding your reservation.
For the program, we are asking each guest to take one minute to describe what she likes best about living in Pagosa Springs. This is a followup to the last two summers’ events when each woman described a significant happening in her life since we met the year before, and the most interesting place she had visited. Feedback was very positive to hearing everyone’s stories and getting to know each other better.
Last summer 21 women from 16 different universities and 11 different sororities who are now living in Pagosa Springs, Durango and Chromo attended the event. The annual luncheon is organized by the local Pi Beta Phi alumnae club. It has become known as a pleasant, casual social event for Panhellenic sorority ladies.
