Christmas Eve at Community United Methodist Church

By Rev. Donald A. Ford
Special to The PREVIEW

The people of the Community United Methodist Church invite you to join them on Christmas Eve.  We will return to the two service format.

The early service at 5 p.m., will include a short skit, “Mary and Joseph, A Pageant for The Season of Christmas,” that will help participants and those in attendance to get deeper into the Christmas story, and some of the complex issues it raises.  It assumes the participants in the actual events did not know “the rest of the story.”  Joseph and Mary had to grow a lot as people beyond their cultural expectations in order to fulfill the roles that God had in mind for them.  Familiar Christmas hymns will be intertwined with the story.

The 7 p.m. worship service will be the traditional Christmas Eve service that CUMC has offered for many years.  Music, hymns, the Christmas story is told through scripture and the lighting of the candles to “Silent Night, Holy Night.”

Come and see!
