Character, honor

Dear Editor:

I just wanted to let you know that a group from my family visited the hot springs on Saturday night, Aug. 2.

Sunday morning as everyone was getting up and getting dressed, my son’s girlfriend realized that she had misplaced all of her rings. We searched the house and they were not there, she finally called the office at the hot springs to see if anyone had turned them in to the lost and found. She was so surprised and thrilled to hear that they had two of the rings in their office. They drove over and picked them up and she said that the staff working Sunday morning was so sweet and happy to be able to return them to her.

Just by chance, they walked over and asked at the hotel and they could not believe, but the other two rings had been turned in to the lost and found there. That means that two different people found rings lying around and were honest enough to turn them in. You don’t know how much this means to all of us.

Again, she said that the staff working at the hotel was so sweet and so excited to return the rings to their rightful owner. What a huge statement for the people of Pagosa Springs and the staff of The Springs. You guys are awesome. It feels so good to know that there are still honest people in this world. While the rings were not incredibly valuable, they were incredibly sentimental to her; one was her grandmother’s engagement ring. It is so awesome to have them returned.

Thank you; thank you for being people of character and honor. Thank you to the staff of The Springs and a huge thank you to the folks, whomever they may be, who found the rings and turned them in for us. It makes us proud to be part-time citizens of Pagosa Springs.
