Celebration of expanded services at the library set

Special to The PREVIEW

We are having a celebration at the Ruby M. Sisson Memorial Library on April 26 and you are invited.

The adult education program at Ruby Sisson Memorial Library is proud to introduce its new name, Pagosa Adult Learning Services, or PALS. The celebration begins at 5 p.m. on April 26 and will feature the expanded offerings of PALS for adults in Pagosa Springs and the surrounding communities.

We are very excited about our new name and new resources available for you or someone you know that may need them. Along with our new name, we entered into a partnership with Pine River Community Learning Center in Ignacio.

Through this partnership, we are able to offer additional Internet-based programs. One of the many new programs we are very excited to add is a distance-learning program. This distance-learning program will allow you to study for your high school equivalence (HSE) from the comfort of your home or anywhere you can connect to the Internet.

We invite the community to explore the expanded Internet-based services and meet some of the people connected to the PALS program. There will be hors d’oeuvres and refreshments to enjoy while exploring the new educational possibilities in Pagosa Springs.

This celebration is free and open for all to attend at the Ruby M. Sisson Memorial Library at 5 p.m. on April 26 at the corner of U.S. 160 and 8th Street.

No RSVP is required and, if you have any questions, please call the library at 264-2209.
