I would like to thank the Pagosa Springs Rotary Club for the honor of being chosen as Grand Marshall of the 2014 Fourth of July Parade. I was proud to represent the community and all the volunteers that give of themselves so unselfishly. I have to say that the greatest joy was being able to take time and speak with many of the children along the route. Especially for the little girls, their eyes just lit up seeing a lady in a lot of bling on a gorgeous horse — many a child’s dream. It made my heart happy just to be able to make them smile.

My other gratefulness is to Tom and Irene Roberts of Roberts Ranch for lending me Honey, who experienced her sixth parade. My own horse is now 28 and not in the best shape to have managed the parade. So, thank you to the Roberts for taking so much pride and time to get Honey “parade ready” and for lending her to me so that at least one of the blondes looked good in the parade.

Thank you, Pagosa, for this honorable and fun opportunity.

People who have challenging medical conditions, or any medical problems, know the importance of being in the best hands possible medically. I’ve been blessed with a doctor who gives me that confidence. Dr. “Buzz” Polczynski has been consistent in her dedication to her profession as well as her patients. In addition, I’ve always received the warm and compassionate care of an old-fashioned family doctor.

Dr. Buzz, I can’t begin to tell you my appreciation for the difference your medical care has made in the quality of my life. As you move on, your patients will miss you, and the community will be losing a special treasure.

Thank you for the years you’ve invested in giving us quality health care.

May God bless you, and keep you and your family in His care.
