Members of Archuleta County 4-H celebrated their success at the 2013 Achievement Night on Sept.14 . We were fortunate enough to celebrate at The Springs Resort, which sponsored the event and provided a space to hold the ceremony. A huge thank you to the staff at The Springs Resort; their courteousness and smiling faces made something ordinary, for the kids, become extraordinary. We had a great time. Thank you to Donnie and Fern Shahan for sponsoring the Daily Rate of Gain awards. We would also like to thank all the parents, grandparents and family members who support these kids year round and help them with their success. These kids put in many hours of hard work and determination, so a big thank you goes to to them.
The Pagosa Springs High School science department would like express our gratitude for a generous donation from the board of directors of the Archuleta County Education Center on behalf of an anonymous donor who specified supporting the STEM initiatives. The money was used to purchase scientific equipment and labware to update and improve our laboratory capabilities. A special thanks to David and Jean Smith for helping inventory and identify equipment needs.
