The Hays Arts Council has announced a call for entries for the 30th annual Five-State Photography competition and exhibition.
Entries will be accepted from Kansas, Colorado, Nebraska, Missouri and Oklahoma.
Entry forms are due Nov. 8.
Entered works are due at the gallery on Nov. 11.
The show opens with a reception on Dec. 6.
Cash awards totaling $1,500 will be divided among winners in three categories: Nature, People and Open.
Daniel W. Coburn will serve as this year’s juror. He is the assistant professor of photo media at the University of Kansas. He holds a master’s of fine arts degree from the University of New Mexico where he also served as director of the John Sommers Gallery. His work has been featured in exhibitions at the Los Angeles Center for Digital Art, the Chelsea Museum in New York, and the International Festival of Photography in Brazil.
