Special to The PREVIEW

Thingamajig Theatre Company is Pagosa Springs’ premier professional theater company and produces plays and educational programs of the highest professional standards that address the needs of, and enhance the quality of life for, Pagosa Springs and southwest Colorado’s growing community.

The company is a unique blend of distinguished and young professional theater artists from all over the United States, creating a synergy between younger and more mature artists. The experienced company of actors and artistic creative team members infuse enthusiasm into Thingamajig’s youth program participants (the Whatchamawhozits) and pass important artistic values on to the next generation of artists.

Thingamajig is also distinguished by the wide variety of its plays and musicals, performed by one resident acting company. This wide repertoire is unified by the goal to explore and celebrate the joy and complexity of the human spirit while bringing accessible art to the community.

The company produces four shows in rotation every summer and a five-show winter season. Now celebrating its fifth anniversary season, this summer’s blockbuster musicals include “Disney’s The Little Mermaid,” “A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum,” “Cabaret” and “Always … Patsy Cline.”

The summer season is in full swing and continues Wednesday through Sunday until Aug. 28. Take a break from the summer heat and join us inside an air-conditioned facility and let us entertain you for the evening or afternoon. It’s Broadway in the mountains and it’s all right here for you.

Thingamajig Theatre Company is a 501(c)3 professional, nonprofit arts organization in residence at the Pagosa Springs Center for the Arts. For tickets and information, please visit pagosacenter.org or call 731-SHOW (7469).
