Dear Editor:

This has gone on long enough, and it’s time to pass a constitutional amendment to the First Amendment forbidding all government officials, especially law officers, from publicly using the word “individual.” What’s said in the privacy of their individual bedrooms is none of our business, but out where children can hear them and learn to call people individuals, because it makes them sound — I don’t know — more important, is contributing to the degeneration of our once great republic. Every person must rise up and band together to purge our public language of this sad little solecism and blunder! Then everything will be better.
