Bear death

Dear Editor:

This letter is being written to protest the killing of a baby black bear in Loma Linda subdivision on Saturday, July 8th by a homeowner who lives directly across the street from a National Forest access. This person fired 2 shots and killed a bear that has been around our subdivision for well over 2 weeks, visiting at least 5 homes that I know of, coming to our home at least 5 or 6 times for a drink of water but never threatening us. Yes, we have a small dog and cat and take the responsibility to keep them inside a fenced yard or our home when he or other wildlife is around.
