Longtime funeral service professional Matthew Boyle and his wife, Lera, moved to Pagosa Springs from Chicago, Ill., on Sept. 3, with a vision of taking quality funeral service to the next level — without raising prices or pushing improvement costs on to client families.
They have done that, and more, by purchasing White’s Family Funeral Home, at 141 N. 14th St.
The Boyles have transformed White’s Family Funeral Home into what they consider to be more of a “Celebration of Life Center.” They will continue to offer traditional burial and cremation services, with a much-improved and more meaningful personal touch.
During the transition, the Boyles have kept the funeral home open and have provided services to Pagosa Springs and the Four Corners area.
The Boyles will host an open house and ice cream social this Sunday, Nov. 18, from 1-5 p.m. at the funeral home. The Chamber of Commerce will conduct a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 3 p.m., and the Boyles are collecting donations of non-perishable food items for local food banks. The new funeral home name, logo and improvements will be unveiled to the community during the open house.
The Boyles can be reached 24 hours a day at 264-2386.
