Salvation Army seeks volunteers for Angel Tree program

The “miracle” of Christmas is repeated over and over again through the joy of caring and sharing.

The traditional red kettle is an integral part of the Christmas scene, with millions of dollars donated each year around the world to aid needy families, seniors and the homeless, in keeping with the spirit of the season.

The Salvation Army endeavors to share the message of mercy and grace given to us by our Savior, Jesus Christ, whose birth it is we celebrate during Christmas.  Your gifts at Christmas fund our ongoing ministry of giving to struggling families throughout the year.

The Angel Tree gift giving program will be sponsored again this year along with the Christmas Food Box Project. We will be gathering and distributing gifts for the children and seniors of the 300 or so families whom we anticipate will need assistance this Christmas season.

An informational meeting is scheduled to provide interested parties with a list of our specific volunteer needs, and a schedule of tasks that need to be accomplished in order to make these programs a success.

Please join us at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 10, at the Nurturing Center located at 802 Rosita St., on the north side of U.S. 160, across from the Ruby Sisson Library.

If you have any questions, call Carla Elliott at (970) 749-6514 or Deb Jennings at (720) 563-1519.

Thank you in advance for donating your time, talent and treasure.
