Conservation district to host free forestry workshop

The San Juan Conservation District will host a forestry workshop on Thursday, Aug. 23, from 9 a.m.–3 p.m. at the CSU Extension Office.

Come see the future: J.R. Ford will lead a tour of his biomass project site in Cloman Park. There will also be a chainsaw safety and tree felling demonstration. Then, back to the Extension Office for free lunch and afternoon speakers.

Learn how to mitigate for fire around your property and keep your forest healthy. You will learn the basics about forest land management, find resources to help you along your way and encouragement to make the most of your property.
