The recreation office is now accepting registrations for this year’s “Hooked on Fishing, Not on Drugs” program, which is tentatively scheduled for July and August at Lake Forest.
With the assistance of the Promoting Prevention Coalition, Pagosa Springs Parks and Recreation Departments and Pagosa Lakes Property Owners Association, up to 25 children ages 8-13 can participate in this educational outdoor experience. A minimum of 10 participants will be required to conduct the program.
Registration cost is $25 and includes usage of fishing poles, bait and flies for those in need, plus drinks and snacks. Participants are welcome to bring their own fishing gear, as well. Insect repellent and sunscreen will also be made available.
Registrations are available at the recreation office in Town Hall, and can also be downloaded through the recreation department link at www.townofpagosasprings.com. Registrations should be submitted to the recreation office; checks and money orders should be made payable to the Town of Pagosa Springs.

Managers are reminded that team registration fees are $250, plus a $30 fee per player. Checks and money orders should be made payable to the Town of Pagosa Springs.
The leagues are tentatively scheduled to begin the week of June 18. Teams which have not paid the $250 team fee prior to the first game will not be permitted to play.

The June session of youth tennis continues at the Wyndham Resorts tennis complex; players ages 8-10 will meet Mondays and Thursdays, 1-2 p.m.
In addition, players ages 11-12 will meet Mondays and Thursdays 2-3 p.m. through the end of the month, and players over the age of 12 will meet Wednesdays from 10-11 a.m.
Registrations for the July session are available at the recreation office and will be accepted through the end of the month. Registrations are also available through a link on the recreation department page at www.townofpagosasprings.com.
Cost to participate is $30 per monthly session. Participants must have no marking-soled athletic or tennis shoes. The recreation department may have some racquets available, but participants are encouraged to purchase and use their own equipment.

Games in the coach-pitch division began June 4; games in the 9-12 division began June12. Uniforms are dispersed prior to game time on each team’s opening night.

The recreation department is accepting donations for this year’s Fourth of July fireworks show.
Donations in any amount will be accepted; checks and money orders should be made payable to Town of Pagosa Springs.
Donations should be addressed “Attention: Fireworks” and mailed to P.O. Box 1859, Pagosa Springs, CO 81147. If you would like to make a cash donation, please do so in person at the front desk in Town Hall.
