Region 9 receives grant to aid economic development

The Region 9 Economic Development District has been approved for a $61,000 Planning and Technical Assistance Grant from the Economic Development Administration (EDA) for the fiscal year 2012-2013.

This EDA planning investment supports regional data collection including an update of the regional Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy, work with county-level economic development groups, and assisting area communities to complete priority projects.

EDA, a bureau within the U.S. Department of Commerce, encourages programs that promote job growth and business expansion, and supports key initiative and public/private sector collaboration among regional areas across the United States.
