Duncan Lawrie PhD, Pagosa Springs resident and NRA certified instructor, will speak June 12 on the Second Amendment at the Archuleta County Republican Women’s Meeting. The meeting will be held from noon to 1:30 p.m. at Boss Hogg’s Restaurant. All are welcome.
A lively and informative discussion is guaranteed as Duncan addresses the Second Amendment topic with two questions. First, what are the motives of gun control advocates? Secondly, what are their techniques for stripping us of Second Amendment rights?
Duncan Lawrie has a PhD in Computer Science and is a Professor and Head Emeritus at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Lawrie was president of the Computer Society, a 100,000-member professional society.
Presently, Duncan and his wife, Linda, reside in Pagosa Springs, where he has held a number of volunteer positions, including San Juan Mounted Patrol, Sheriff’s Incident Management Group, County Crime Technician and with the Humane Society. He is an NRA certified instructor, holds the FCC Extra License and is an FCC examiner.
In addition to all of the above, Duncan is a principal of DHL Consulting LLC and Fort Lawrie Technical Services.
