A pottery making class is being offered at Chimney Rock Archeological Area this summer for students entering fourth grade to seventh grade.
The dates for the class are Wednesday, Aug. 1, and Thursday, Aug. 2 (10 a.m. – 3 p.m. each day).
This class will only be available to 20 students. The cost for this two-day workshop is $35 per day. Transportation will be provided.
Students will learn how to make an Ancestral Puebloan bowl using the same techniques and materials as the Ancient Ones.
We are inviting Gregory Wood, BFA ceramics, ArchaeoCeramist™, art educator specializing in the history and methods of Ancestral Puebloan Pottery, to teach his class. His website is www.AncientArts.org.
