Forest health presentation scheduled

Sky Stephens, Forest Entomologist with the Colorado State Forest Service, will make a free presentation on “Beetles and Their Impact on Forest Health.”

Stephens will discuss current forest health challenges in Colorado, including spruce beetle, mountain pine beetle and other insects and diseases. She will address the impacts these insects and diseases have on our forests and talk about how we can respond to them on our public and private forests with proactive forest management and individual tree protection.

The Pagosa Springs presentation will take place Tuesday, May 1, from 7-8:30 p.m. at the Pagosa Lakes Clubhouse, 230 Port Ave.

Light refreshments will be served.
