Thank you, Mary Jo Coulehan, for raising $837 for the Immaculate Heart of Mary/Pope John Paul II Food Bank in the third annual Penguin Plunge Sunday, Feb. 19, 2012.
First of all, I would like to thank all of these folks for being part of my team. It takes all of you to make a great transportation department and that is what we have. You guys are on the road every day before most people even think about getting out of bed.
You guys put your lives on the line every day, driving in the dark, inclement weather, zero visibility, while enforcing at least five bus rules at a time, watching out not to hit deer and elk, and not to mention all the other people on the road coming down Put Hill in a snowstorm, getting kids to school safely. You all deserve to be recognized.
Last year, you guys drove 740 miles per day with 1,174 students registered to ride the bus daily. In 167 days, you guys drove 123,580 miles getting kids to and from school accident free ... except for Doug who manages to damage everything he drives. Anyway, add another 31,958 miles in shuttles, field trips and athletic trips.
Thanks for all you do.
Seeds of Learning would like to thank Jan Santopietro and Stacy Kirby for “plunging” for Seeds of Learning. Between the two of them they raised almost $2,000!
