The Pagosa Area Fire Protection District (PFPD) and the Upper San Juan Health Service District (USJHSD) have both published calls for nominations this week.
Both districts will hold elections on Tuesday, May 8, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the Pagosa Springs Medical Center, where the Pagosa Area Water and Sanitation District elections will also be held.
The PFPD has two seats up for election, each with a four-year term. Board president LeRoy Lattin and secretary/treasurer Richard Cole’s terms will end. Both are eligible to run for reelection. PFPD self-nomination and acceptance forms are available at Fire Station 1 at 191 North Pagosa Blvd. Forms must be handed in by Friday, March 2.
The USJHD will welcome four directors, three with four year terms, one with a two-year term. Jim Knoll and Malcom Rodgers have the option to run for reelection. Director Jerry Baker, who was appointed to the board in 2010, can also run to be elected to finish out the two-year term. Director Jim Pruitt will have served eight years on the USJHSD board and thus is ineligible to run again.
Self-nomination and acceptance forms are available at the Pagosa Mountain Hospital at 95 South Pagosa Blvd. The forms must be filed with the USJHSD by Friday, March 2.
