Thingamajig Theatre Company is raising funds to keep up the fun.
In March, one or more lucky ladies can win a part in the professional and humorous production “Escanaba in da Moonlight.”
In a hunting story to beat all hunting stories, “Escanaba in da Moonlight” spins a hilarious tale of humor, horror and heart. Thirty-five year old Reuben Soady, the only Soady to never shoot a deer, goes to any and all lengths to rewrite the record and bag a buck.
The play takes place in a cabin full of guys — and in the end there is one magnificent woman who arrives to assist the hapless hunters.
If you are a magnificent woman or you know a magnificent woman who loves theatre and wants to hone her acting chops on a professional stage, this auction is for you.
It is a fun way to support the theatre company and participate in the behind-the-scenes and in-the-scenes action that makes the Thingamajig Theatre Company great, and we hope you will bid your socks off. The play runs March 16- April 1 on Fridays and Saturdays at 7 p.m. and Sundays at 2 p.m., for a total of nine shows. You can buy the entire part for $1,000 or buy the nights of your choice for $150 each. Or you can go to our website, www.pagosacenter.org and find the link that will take you to the Ebay bidding site to try your luck at getting the part for a steal. Bidding starts at $20. If you would like to place a bid and are not Ebay savvy, the folks at the Center for the Arts can take your bid over the phone if you call 731-7469. Winning bidders must be available for two rehearsals before they take their place on stage.
All proceeds go towards productions costs for the show. Good luck!
