“A Classic Christmas,” a dazzling holiday musical celebration, will take place at the Pagosa Springs Center for the Arts on Monday and Tuesday, Dec. 19 and 20, at 7 p.m. each night.
Preceding the concert, at 6 p.m., there will be a social with live music and warm, delicious holiday drinks at the gallery bar.
Advance tickets to “A Classic Christmas” have been flying out the door like Canadian geese migrating for the winter. In addition to the Tuesday show, a Monday show has been added. At current tempo, both nights may sell out soon.
For years, “A Classic Christmas” has been a family tradition in Pagosa.
This year’s wonderful holiday musical celebration includes many fine musicians who live in our magical mountain village.
Jessica Peterson, one of the distinguished performers, plays many different types of flutes. Besides being an accomplished musician, Peterson is a master Native American flute maker and owner of Pagosa-based Nighteagle Flute Company. Joining Peterson is a large cast of wonderful instrumentalists and vocalists, musical artists whose work is enhancing Pagosa’s notability as a vibrant regional arts center.
They include Stephany Bouchier, John Graves, Jessica Espinosa, Larry Elginer, Kathy Isberg, Carla Roberts, Sally Neel, Bob Nordmann, Kate Kelly, Jean Smith, Joe Gilbert, Heidi Tanner, Carl Mori, June Marquez, Ross Barrable, Paul Roberts, Tim Moore and Robert Neel.
The concert will take place in the Center’s theater. A pre-concert social and intermission will be held in the Center’s elegant gallery, now resplendent in stunning holiday decor.
Perhaps at no other time in American history has there been an artistically creative force emanating from Pagosa such as there is now. This is due, at least in part, to the recent emergence of the Center for the Arts, which in just eight months has come to symbolize new creative possibilities.
See and be seen, hear and be heard, greet your friends, make new ones, experience one of the joys of living in (or visiting) one of the friendliest and most scenic mountain villages in the world.
