Having recently completed radiation treatment for breast cancer, a local resident is reaching out to the community to ask for help from survivors or current patients who are interested in helping to start a local support group.

There are currently groups in Durango and Cortez, which meet monthly.

Some benefits of the group might include a phone list, regular meetings, rides to treatment, help with getting information and doing research, as well as emotional support.

It is hoped that the group will be organized and meeting regularly after the first of the year, but there can be individual support right away.
