On Sunday, Nov. 6, the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship service topic will be “Have You Had Your ‘Transcendental Moment’ Yet Today?”
It will be presented by Jennifer Forker, from Denver. She points out that, “Our society talks a lot about transcendence. Even within our UU churches, some of us strive for ‘transcendent moments,’ which can be defined as experiences outside of ourselves.”
Forker further asks “What if that’s not what it’s all about, and we’re striving in the wrong direction? What if transcendence is easier, lovelier — and more human — than we ever imagined?”
Jennifer Forker graduated in June from the Iliff School of Theology in Denver, and continues on the path to UU ministry. She works part time as a freelance features reporter for The Associated Press and is active in immigrants’ rights work in the Denver area.
The service begins at 10:30 a.m. in the Pagosah Unitarian Universalist Fellowship Hall, and child care will be provided. The address is Unit B-15, Greenbriar Plaza. Turn East on Greenbriar Drive off North Pagosa Boulevard by the fire station, then left into the back parking lot and look for the big sign. All are welcome!
