DECISION NOTICE
Boone Federal 16-1 Exploratory Oil Well Project
San Juan National Forest
Pagosa Ranger District
Archuleta County, Colorado
As the Responsible Official, Pagosa District Ranger Kevin Khung signed a Decision Notice on October 28, 2011, approving the Boone Federal 16-1 Exploratory Oil Well Project. The decision authorizes the Surface Use Plan of Operations (SUPO) for the Boone Federal 16-1 Exploratory Oil Well, and involves the construction of 500 feet of temporary access road, the reconstruction of 0.6 miles of existing closed roads, construction of a well pad, and drilling of an exploratory oil well in the Buckles Lake area on the Pagosa Ranger District. The decision also includes specific Conditions of Operation which will apply to this project. The project is located in a portion of section 16, Township 33 North, Range 1 East, NMPM.

No comments were received on the pre-decisional Environmental Assessment. This decision is not subject to administrative review (appeal) pursuant to 36 Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) Part 215.12.
Pursuant to 36 CFR Part 215.9, implementation of this decision may begin immediately after publication of the Legal Notice for this decision in the Durango Herald, the paper of record. Publication is anticipated for November 3, 2011.

2011 Asphalt Preservation Project
Archuleta County, Colorado is in the process of finalizing the above listed project constructed by Elam Construction, Inc., which included work on light Plant Road (CR 119), Pinon Causeway, Capricho Circle, South Pagosa Boulevard, Buttress Avenue, Meadows Drive, North Pagosa Boulevard, and Trujillo Road (CR 500). Any claims against this project by suppliers, subcontractors, or others should be delivered to the project engineering firm of Davis Engineering Services, Inc. at 188 S. 8th Street, P.O.
