November is fast approaching, and this means that it is almost time for the 37th annual Civic Club Bazaar that traditionally kicks off the holiday season in Pagosa Springs.
This popular event will be held on Saturday, Nov. 5, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Ross Aragon Community Center.
This year, there are 70 booth spaces with more than 70 individuals offering their works. In addition to all the artists and crafters from the Pagosa Springs area, participants come to this bazaar from as far away as Arizona, New Mexico and various regions of Colorado. There is also a waiting list for individuals hoping to be able to participate.
The ever-popular raffle will include between 40 and 50 items, including three of the traditional $50 money wreaths. You can purchase your raffle tickets ($1 each or six for $5) just inside the front door, in the lobby. The high-quality silent auction will run from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The silent auction table will be located in the gym near the Civic Club cafe.
Yes, the cafe will be back with the club specialty, Civic Club brisket, along with other lunch treats and a variety of beverages. There will be plenty of room in the cafe area for you to sit down, take a break from your shopping, meet with friends and enjoy a treat.
Speaking of treats, the Bake Sale table will again be located in the lobby near the door to the gym. Dozens of cookies, breads, pies, cakes and other munchies will be available to tempt your palate. Here is your chance to buy goodies to either eat immediately or freeze for holiday gatherings.
It takes a lot of manpower and energy to set up for this event, and volunteers are always welcome and appreciated. The club can especially use help with setup on Friday and with takedown on Saturday evening. If you have some time you can dedicate to this cause, please call Barb (731-9979) or Jennifer (731-5835).
