Pagosa Springs has a new informal fashion committee named Women Helping Others (WHO).
Our mandate is simple: Provide an annual fall fashion event that women in Pagosa Springs will enjoy and learn from, while raising much-needed funds for local non-profit organizations.
The fashion committee includes LaQuita Johnson, former Hospital CEO; Suzy Bruce, former office manager for cardiothoracic surgeons; Julia Buenafe, former human resources specialist, now employed at Happy Trails Ladies Boutique; and Maria MacNamee, former computer analyst for the Marine Corps. and owner for over 17 years of Happy Trails Ladies Boutique. All have lived in Pagosa Springs for a combined time of over 41 years.
This year’s kickoff event will be held Thursday Nov. 3, at the Ross Aragon Community Center.
Nationally-known fashion guru and women humorist T.J. Reid will bring style expertise and Southern charm with her program: “Fashion, Fun & Feelings,” and Happy Trails Ladies Boutique will present a fashion show highlighting the latest trends in fashion and acccessories.
All proceeds from this event will be donated this year to Pagosa Springs Youth Center and the Pagosa Springs Headstart program for playground equipment.
Happy Trails Ladies Boutique will be the primary sponsor of this annual event — its way of saying thank you to the community.
