The third annual LASSO Bling Fling will take place Oct. 11 at the always intriguing Winslow on the Shire.
Located 3 1/2 miles south of Pagosa Springs on U.S. 84, the Winslow is the perfect setting for a lovely evening to shop 15 local retailers, crafters, cosmeticians, fashionistas, and jewelry, jewelry, jewelry.
LASSO (Large Animal Support Southwest Organization) has organized the 4 to 8 p.m. gathering to showcase the talents of artists and provide local retailers an opportunity to show off the latest in merchandise — all for a cause.
LASSO doesn’t just host the best parties, dances and educational opportunities — members of this organization love this commuity, it’s people and animals!
Last year the 5(1)(-)C3 non profit provided care to twelve facility horses who have been rescued, rehabilitated, and await permanent adoption in new homes. It also provided temporary feed assistance to thirty additional horses whose owners were unable to feed their animals. This assistance enabled the owners to keep their animals at home. The LASSO horses awaiting adoption are cared for by you. Your involveme, t whether by volunteering or attending events like the Bling Flin,g enable LASSO to continue great programs, most specifically work with special needs people. Everyone is invited to participate in the weekly horse assisted riding with the Pagosa Springs High School Special Talent kids at the LASSO facility. Plan to join the weekly fun beginning in spring 2012. The annual Special Olympics Horse Camp held at the LASSO facility is another great opportunity for everyone to be a part of an unforgettable experience. Speaking of Special Talents, not only are these kids great horse people they once again bring their artistic talents to this year’s Bling Fling. Their creations sell out quickl,y so plan to shop early!
The come-and-go party includes Arts by Treva, jewelry to die for; collectibles and jewelry by Shabby Sheek; and new artist ECD Creations, who cra,fts custom semiprecious jewelry. The Costume Pit Stop joins the party with lingerie, candles, inti,mates and costume rentals. Custom jewelry makers Catherine Frye and Jane Schur will be selling their fun creations.
Pagosa retailers participating in the evening are: The Hide Out, Home Again, The Outfitter, Next Door Decor, Better Than New-Gently Used Goods and Upholstery, and the new Rescue Ropes. Guests can expect the latest in personal care ideas from A Time For You Salon, Nu Skin, Avon, Queen Bee and Mountain Gal Spas, all offering exciting new products to pamper you and great gift ideas.
A San Juan River luxury condominium for four people and a two night stay is being raffled. The winning ticket will be drawn at the Bling Fling.
Bling Fling tickets are $25 per person, which includes gourmet delights, wine and Mustang Margaritas.
Raffle tickets and Bling Fling tickets are on sale at Home Again, The Hide Out, Pagosa Feed and Nursery, and Boothill.
Most participating Bling Fling retailers also have tickets to sell.
