Boldness before God and man

We have been given an invitation to come boldly before God’s throne of grace.

It is at His throne that we may find and obtain the help that we need.

Boldness before God is not based on any achievement of our own or inherent self worth. But, instead, we may boldly approach His throne because He has invited us and He has extended His scepter of righteousness to us.

David spoke of this when he described the happiness of those who are declared righteous without working for it. — Romans 4:6, NLT

“Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.” — Hebrews 4:16, NKJV

We are also in need of supernatural boldness before man. Boldness before God is where we may obtain boldness before man. Jesus would often spend hours in prayer before God. Then He would spend minutes before the people healing and setting them free. We often spend minutes before God, and therefore, hours and days before people, trying to get them free. Public success flows out of private success. Our private prayer life affects our public performance. Ministry to others is to flow out of fullness with God.

Many times we may feel weak and timid. At those times we can come boldly before God’s throne of grace and obtain the strength and boldness we need. God will help us become what we cannot become apart from Him. Remember, we have not because we ask not (see James 4:2). But God has granted us the privilege of boldness in Him, that if we ask for anything in agreement with His plan, He will listen and grant us our requests.

And this is the confidence (the assurance, the privilege of boldness) which we have in Him: [we are sure] that if we ask anything (make any request) according to His will (in agreement with His own plan), He listens to and hears us. And if (since) we [positively] know that He listens to us in whatever we ask, we also know [with settled and absolute knowledge] that we have (granted us as our present possessions) the requests made of Him. — 1 John 5:14-15, Amplified Bible.

Do you need boldness? Ask for it. Find it and obtain it. It comes from God. Boldness and the working of signs and wonders through the name of Jesus work together. The early church asked for boldness, God granted it and the world was changed.

“Now, Lord, look on their threats, and grant to Your servants that with all boldness they may speak Your word, by stretching out Your hand to heal, and that signs and wonders may be done through the name of Your holy Servant Jesus.”

“And when they had prayed, the place where they were assembled together was shaken; and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and they spoke the word of God with boldness.” — Acts 4:29-31, NKJV

Today, boldly make your request known to God, having total confidence that He is hearing you and will grant your request.
