The Humane Society’s 17thannual Auction for the Animals, held Friday, Aug. 26, at the Ross Aragon Community Center, was a wonderful night out on the town for the more than 300 people who attended.
A huge round of applause goes to 71 volunteers who helped make this event a success and another round of applause to all those businesses and individuals who donated auction items. Without their help, the Auction for the Animals could not have taken place, and a special thank you to everyone who attended the event and demonstrated their financial support!
This year, the Auction for the Animals committee made a concerted effort to continue to find creative ways to cut costs and still put on a quality event. With these cost savings, the Humane Society was able to raise some much-needed funds that will be used to offset the operating costs of the animal shelter, which houses the lost, homeless, abandoned and owner-surrendered dogs and cats of Pagosa Springs and Archuleta Country, and to ensure the ongoing efforts to keep these animals off the streets and in a safe place.
We sincerely hope that all who attended had a wonderful time and went home with some great auction items.
