The Region 9 Economic Development District of Southwest Colorado (Region 9) has updated the Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy’s (CEDS) county and regional data and strategic planning pieces.
For each county, and the region as a whole, there is data presented relating to population, infrastructure, county government, county revenues, land use, transportation issues, services, labor force, employment and income by sector, and employment and income trends from 1980 to 2009 (latest year available).
New to the 2011 report is information on economic drivers (also called economic clusters) and livable wages for each county.
The information is available on the Region 9 website, www.scan.org/regional_data.html, for review and public comment through September, when it will be finalized and printed. This 2011 document is the fourth full edition.
The CEDS provides information about the overall health of our communities and whether the region is headed forward or backward, improving or deteriorating. Since all aspects of community are intricately linked to one another, an indicator changing in one area can affect many other areas.
The full CEDS is updated every five years, and each county’s profile and Community Development Action Plan (CDAP) is updated on a two-year cycle.
Feel free to provide input, edits and send questions to email@example.com or firstname.lastname@example.org. Once finalized, the CEDS will be promoted region wide.
