Emergency personnel located Lashaye Westbrook at approximately 10 a.m. Monday morning.
Westbrook suffered no major injuries while missing, but was transported to the Pagosa Springs Medical Center, said Mineral County Coroner Charles Downing, who served as public information liaison for the search and rescue effort.
Downing said Westbrook, who was separated from friends Saturday while hiking in the Piedra Falls area north of Pagosa Springs, was located by members of the 512 Rescue Squadron from the Kirtland, N.M. Air Force Base.
Search and rescue personnel began looking for her at about 10:30 p.m. Saturday. Search and rescue teams were dispatched from both Archuleta and Mineral counties.
“This is a story that has a happy ending,” Downing said.
