California band to play at center fund-raiser

Are you ready for a dance?

Mark your calendars and save this date: D.L. Marble and his band will be here all the way from San Diego, Calif.,on Sept. 16.

Bring a friend or two. Socialize, dance and enjoy the entertainment. Cash bar and snacks will be available.

This is a 21 and older fund-raising event for the Ross Aragon Community Center. Stay tuned to center news for more information in the next few weeks. We hope to see you there.

Free programs

Mah Jongg. Tuesdays, 1-3 p.m. call the center with any questions, 264-4152.

Pickleball. Pickleball is a game for all ages. Games are Monday and Wednesday mornings, 8-10 a.m. Contact Fran, (970) 884-3184, if you would like to play.

Tai Chi. No experience is necessary. Join instructors Pam Kircher and Anna O’Reilly. Classes are Wednesdays, 11a.m.-noon. Please wear flat-soled shoes and bring water. Class is open to everyone.

Duplicate Bridge. Every Tuesday and Thursday, 5:30-10 p.m. Call Stan, 731-2217 or e-mail Stan at sunset1310@aol.com.

Pagosa Bridge 4 Fun. Mondays, 12:30-4 p.m. For more information, contact the Community Center, 264-4152.

Hoopsters. Tuesdays and Thursdays, 8-9 a.m. Warren and the guys are waiting for you to come out and play. The Hoopsters are a great group of guys getting out there twice a week for a good game of b-ball.

Yoga. Thursdays, 10-11 a.m. and Tuesdays, 10-11:30 a.m. Rejuvenate with us. Please bring a mat or towel. Call the center with questions 264-4152.

Meditation on the Breath. Mondays and Thursdays, 11-11:30 a.m. Call the center for information.

Dance for Life-Vinyasa Flow. Mondays and Wednesdays, 10-11 a.m. Call Helena for information, 731-5529.

Belly Dancing. We offer a beginners’ class, 1-2:30 p.m., and an intermediate class from 2:30-3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Come learn this beautiful art; it is great exercise and lots of fun. Contact Carla for more information, 731-3117.

The Ancient Art of Hand Drumming. Percussionist Carla Roberts teaches drumming every Wednesday, 3:30-4:30 p.m. This is a beginner to intermediate instruction on the goblet shaped hand drum. Call the center for more information, 264-4152.

Dodgeball. Whether you have played a little or a lot, come on over and play dodge ball, for kids 9 and up. Teams will be split by age groups. Tuesdays 1-3 p.m., call the center for more information, 264-4152.

Volleyball. Open Court Volleyball, Friday 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Ages 9 and up and all skill levels welcome. Call the center for more information, 264-4152.

The Ross Aragon Community Center has the space you are looking for. We have reasonably priced rooms to meet your event needs. Our rates range from $6 to $90 per hour. Room sizes for 20, 40, 50, 90 or 500 people.

The community center hours are Monday-Friday 8 a.m.-5:30 p.m., Saturday and Sunday by appointment only.
