The Pagosa Springs Area Association of REALTORS® has started raising funds for their 2011 Bucks for Bikes program.
If you were one of the spectators at the fourth of July parade you may have stopped by the Bucks for Bikes booth and dropped a buck or two in the bucket. Thanks are due once again to a generous local community.
Another opportunity is coming up at the Archuleta County Fair. Stop by the Bucks for Bikes booth in the Education Tent for more information or to donate to this outstanding program that supports youth in our community.
First and foremost, Bucks for Bikes needs donations to help dreams come true for kids in Archuleta County. Last year, generous donors contributed enough money to purchase 40 new bikes, plus Mercy Regional Medical Center donated helmets for children between the ages of five and 16.
Last, we had two sponsors: The Hub Bike Shop and Pedal and Powder. Each of these local businesses provided the bicycles at cost to PSAAR, which allowed us to purchase even more bicycles. The goal this year is to raise more than $6,000. Business and individuals alike are invited to contribute — all donations are tax-deductible.
Donations can be mailed to or dropped off at the Pagosa Springs Area Association of REALTORS®, 190 Talisman Drive No. D-5, Pagosa Springs, CO 81147.
Checks should be made payable to Bucks for Bikes and, remember, your entire donation is tax-deductible.
The donation deadline is Friday, Nov. 18.
