This Monday evening, Aug. 1, Community United Methodist Church will host the fourth and final week of CUMC in the Community.
In the past three weeks, people attending have heard about housing in Archuleta County, the Pagosa Outreach Connection, CUMC’s own Community Assistance program and last week about the Accountability Court.
This week the subject is food.
“No one in Archuleta County should go hungry. There is enough food in this country to feed all. All a person needs to do is ask.” This statement is the model for food services in this county. Four churches supply boxes and Loaves and Fishes serves a meal at noon every Thursday. These are all accomplished with no charge to those who need the food.
How many boxes are given out? How much is spent on food for those in need? How many meals are provided on Thursdays? These questions and more will be answered Monday evening beginning at 5:30 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall of the Community United Methodist Church. A light meal will be provided for those who come at 5:30 and the panel discussion will begin about 5:45.
