The Chamber of Commerce hosts the third annual Renaissance and Pirate Festival in Town Park from July 15-17.
Due to the popularity of last year’s event, this year the festival has been expanded to three days: Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
Every day there will be different activities and entertainment to keep the children and adults engaged and coming back. There will be the consistency of the guilds and all their antics, as well as the very popular vendor concessions, which include crafts and food.
Town Park transforms into a colorful medieval village complete with encampments, craft and food vendors, a tavern area, live enactments and theater, and a large area for activities.
The Pagosa Springs Renaissance Fair is also unique in that it attempts to keep the event area and activities as authentic to the time period as possible.
Everyone will be entertained by this year’s addition, The Salida Circus. You can learn to spin plates, walk on stilts, juggle, and perform other challenging entertainment skills.
The Renaissance Festival is an important event in our community as it focuses on our children and engaging them in creative activities.
We appreciate the support of all the sponsors who have donated to improve the children’s activities area. The activity center will allow kids to work with crafts, hunt for the King’s Treasure, and perform fun physical activities.
There will be vendors teaching those who attend the festival how to make swords and shields, do woodworking, silver work and blacksmithing, and create other handmade craft items.
Our live performances will include belly dancing, and music and theater including the Big’ns, The Gypsy Players and Rakassah Jabal. Back by popular demand will be Mark Logsdon, our escape artist.
Adults can also partake of true caste beer by Pagosa Brewing and juice of the grape! Period dress is encouraged for adults and children alike, which makes the festival even more fun. There is certainly something for everyone.
Tickets are very reasonable as admission is only $2 for adults and $1 for children. Check out the schedule of events located in The SUN.
