Brad Duran, 41, formerly of Pagosa Springs, has been named director of the Grand Mesa Youth Services Center — a youth corrections facility in the Grand Junction area that serves 18 western Colorado counties with 77 beds for youthful offenders awaiting trial or serving sentences.
Duran was an intern at the facility while a student at Mesa State College in 1992. He was promoted to the position of security officer in 1993 and to the position of youth services counselor in 1998. Duran became assistant director in 2003, then served as interim director beginning in January 2011.
A 1988 graduate of Pagosa Springs High School, Duran is the son of Vince and Norma Duran, of Pagosa Springs.
