Learn about high-altitude baking at Homemakers meeting

The Mountain View Homemakers Club will meet Thursday, June 9, to hear Kathy Keyes of Pagosa Baking Company talk about “High Altitude Baking.”

Members and any interested women are urged to arrive about 11:30 a.m. to visit and set out the covered dish lunch at the Extension Building at the fairgrounds. Lunch begins promptly at noon, followed by what promises to be a very interesting speaker. The meeting usually lasts till about 2 p.m., but occasionally a bit longer.

Mountain View Homemakers is a 48-year-old club whose aim is to improve the lives of our families, the community, and the area around us. Most months there is a speaker or two, sometimes a community project, and once a year an auction to raise funds for local non-profits. Members and friends donate handmade items including food, fine art, pillows and quilts, gift baskets, home decor, gift certificates, services and more. The auction will be July 14, with Bill Nobles as auctioneer.
